I would recind the POA so fast the agent's ahead would spin. Get yourself a lawyer. It's more than reasonable given you are out of state.
I second this. Contact your senator?? What the heck kind of advice is that. VA has loan policies that are pretty clear. If the buyer's said they would go conventional, then they should have started down that path already.

My husband and I are seriously thinking about revoking the POA we signed. Originally when we decided to sign the POA we were supposed to be in MT for my sister's wedding. We weren't going ot have ready access to a fax machine/email, so the POA was our best option. However, now that we have relocated, have our fax/email set back up, it seems that we should be signing our own closing docs.

I talked with our realtor today. The buyers VA loan was denied based on the fact they did not check a box on their application. Supposibly this was just an oversight, they corrected the mistake, and their lender rushed the application back to the VA. THey are requesting expedited service (we will see). Our realtor hopes that we can close in the next few days. This is just such an ongoing nightmare for us and I would really like to be done with the house! I'm supposed to hear back from our realtor by the end of today. I sure hope things work out. Our vacation time (and bank account) is dwindling.
