Getting out of real estate and into gold right now is selling low and buying high. Not great business practice. Just buy $100k worth of whatever Warren Buffet is doing.

the fence prematurely because of their ridiculous scare tactics, I would be SOL now.
This is a shocking disclosure of info that I would never have guessed of you. Own 2 homes that were purchased pre-bubble? Then why, for God's sake, didn't you sell at peak (since you're able to predict the market) and take the money and RUUUNNNN! And why 2 homes? WOW, I don't get it. You have to be the ONLY doomer who supports a "CRASH" that is also a homeowner. Do you live in either one of the 2 homes you own? And are you looking to purchase a third for that "investment" you clearly don't believe in? Remember, houses are not supposed to be "appreciatable assets" according to some. So nothing about your claims makes sense. If you own 2 homes, then I should think you should expect they increase in value over time and since you purchased in the "last bottom", I'm hoping you at least expect to make a profit on those since you've owned them for quite some time. OR should your homes be priced so anyone can afford them because prices are too "inflated"? Just curious. Please let us all know which side you stand. And yes, it's a VERY divided topic. There is no in between. You can't have it both ways.
