Nice cartoon, I think that the FRB is far from perfect in their use of "crystal balls" and if the downturn is half as long as they discussed (or twice as long...) they really don't have to answer to anyone.

Much higher probability that the WH will do it all can to help others in their party have the correct answer to "are you better off now than you were at the last election"...

Now that the housing bailout is approved, will this improve the forecast or just drag out the downturn?
