You really should take those school ratings with a HUGE grain of salt. Personally, I'd take the one with the best high school that is for YOUR family as a house is more than just an investment--it's a place to live.

That 'best high school' has students coming from four elementary school districts. Three of them are really good. The remaining one is the one I am talking about. My money only can buy houses in 40-50s in the other three districts.
In my experience, the elementary schools are all more on even ground. Its when they reach middle and high school that it hits the fan and there are more severe discrepancies. Meaning...even in a lower rated elementary school, a child with good parenting will be successful in learning. Whereas in middle and high school, the influence outside of the home is far greater. For resale purposes, I would go with the best high school for this reason.

However, if you were to stay longer, I agree with another poster that wrote about the influence kids have on your relocation. If they are involved in sports and other extracurricular activities, have developed incredible friendships, and you have no compelling reason to move, you should make sure you're in a place where you could stay. At this stage, for me, I wouldnt buy anywhere that I couldnt live for many, many years right now. My vote: the better middle and high school location. Good luck!
