Though having been a very active real estate agent with a good seller-buyer base, I now desire to slowdown in the business now due to the current downward trends in the market and take it up later when the markets are up again. Is there any option for me, where I need not give up my contacts and earn some residual income from what I have built over the years?
If you don't make sales, I don't know how you could earn a commission?
If you have a business it might be possible to sell it - of course, it's a down market right now. It's possible to sell your contacts but then you wouldn't be able to take them back when the market is better. If you were to sell your business or even your contact lists you'd need to include an agreement in the contract not to contact the customers or compete with the business.
If you are wanting to slow down - this is the market to do it in. Perhaps you will just want to do that, slow down and not work too much. Keep contact with your customer base and wait for better times.
Congrats,,, move to our area, keep your liscense active, so we can pay you the referral fees, and many new agents would love to have clients they could build with, so find a firm that would fit.
