Graveyards of the Housing Bust are Zombie Developments

I imagine many of these developments may become occupied by squatters.

It's sad, but this is a lesson that must be learned. Unfortunately, builders are doing everything they can NOT to learn this lesson. I still see them building small $350k+ "luxury" townhouses right next to a coal power plant in my area! How about building some smaller, greener, non-luxury regular townhouses and single family houses rather than making everything sub-$200k a condo? Let those new zombie developments rot until someone wakes up and starts building for tomorrow instead of for inflated bubble madness.
