Hey,
I just wanted to post a little survey here to find out some of your opinions. I have a house that I am going to be selling soon. It has white appliances (Kenmore brand countertop stove, wall oven, and dishwasher and a Whirlpool side by side fridge with ice maker and water). My question is: would you not buy this house because it has white appliances rather than stainless steel appliances? The hardware and light fixtures are oil rubbed bronze and the countertops are granite.
I am not shopping for a house, but I find stainless steel a very cold looking appliance. I much prefer white, especially with my country white cabinets. You might want to know that I am a senior citizen and may not think like the younger generation. I have a stainless steel sink and two of our white appliances have black front doors (stove and dishwasher). White is classic.
I despise my stainless..never again. Nor would I want granite, I love my old fashioned formica! If I ever go to buy a house, again, and find one I like with stainless or granite, I will ask for RE 'decorating' allowance to be rid of it LOL
IMHO- Hey if your house is clean, and neat, clutterfree and not overcrowded with furniture, don't sweat it. For goodness sake , don't go in debt trying to keep up with those darn Jones people!
There is nothing wrong with white as long as they all match. If your kitchen looks great and uncluttered there should be no problem. Good Luck selling your home!!

I agree, as long as they all match it should be fine. When I was house hunting I did not care what color the appliances were as long as they were all the same color, and that color was white black or stainless steel. White is a nice neutral color for appliances.
I wouldn't mind...many of the stainless steel have dents and are hard to clean...I do like to see stainless steel, but if the house is what I like the appliances can always be changed later on.
No deal breaker!, and you know what is cool now, isn't cool in a year!
I bought a TV for the kitchen and got the only white model I could find. It matches the refrigerator, the dishwasher, stove and even the countertops. I like a bright kitchen and when you get stainless or black appliances you have to darken the walls to match.
It depends on the house. If I ever get my timberframe, then I'll get stainless appliances.
I don't really care about the color. As long as the kitchen is clean, functional and has counter space, that's all that matters to me.
