Lucky to have a handy BIL - and you're right about renting v owning. There's always a positive to a negative and one thing about not 'really being married' lol is that I didn't buy 'cause was waiting for pseudo to move down. Low, low rent, electric bill was like $5 this month 'cause president reduced rates for everyone but the companies using a lot of electricity so the remaining 93% of the population got a reduction in bills, something breaks 'El Senor' comes over. They even fertilize my flowers, plant new ones, putting in the back patio (at some point in my lifetime lol) and won't increase my rent. I'm so happy here, don't know if I'll ever move especially if they increase the size of the house like they're looking at doing - though don't need huge. Since I love my neighbors so much if I did buy, I might just buy this but at $140 a month and includes water/trash/sewer? WHY, ya know?
|
WOW...$140/month---I need to move to PA with Joy! That is so unbelieveable!!! WOW!!
I often have PBJ for dinner!! I need a wife sometimes too!
I wasn't feeling well today--had a killer sinus headache. But I forced myself out of the house and took Watson to the park because I know he has been bored lately...ie: destructive behavior as in chewing up pee pads. He can't stand when I am on the PC--he begs for me to hold him. When he sees me typing with one hand, then he wants down.
So...we had a good day at the park--he made some new friends...let's see a beagle, a westie and a malamute---GOD was that malamute huge and BEAUTIFUL.
Then came home and fell asleep after taking allergy medicine for my sinus headache. I woke up and had a missed call from work asking if I wanted to work tonight....ummm ...NO!
Now I just finished making Watergate Salad (from the Food & Family magazine by Kraft). Lace...check it out---on page 39. It is good!! I didn't add the mini marshmallows because I didn't have any and didn't feel like going to the store. It is yummy.

NJ, you make me laugh girl! What is with your weird neighborhood? Maybe your cop neighbor is trying to clean up a crime scene! How are the kids? How's the hubby?
And for god's sake, after packing for one week straight, why do I have all this sh*t! I just got to the pots and pans...may need to keep cooking, but need to pack them, but need to use them, but need to pack them, uggggh.
Lorrie, girlfriend, I'm so relieved that Gary had a clean bill of health. You had me worried there with him having a cough. There is a lesson there to appreciate all we have, especially the people we care about in our lives.
My kids are all in apartments, but in less than ideal conditions. My one dd, is living in a house, top floor with two roommates. Her landlords keep complaining about noise, accused the other two roomates of smoking pot, (she was at work) etc. The one landlord is a state trooper, and her partner has a teenage kid. Then the other two have an apt. in Newburgh...which is right on the edge/middle of a bad area. They received a foreclosure notice on their door, two days ago. Their landlord in in foreclosure, not them. It seems like they will be able to stay for at least six months, which they leased the apartment for.
Hey, maybe they'll all have to come out to Missouri with my dh and I. Hopefully it won't be for a few months, until we have figured out how to fit 2600 s.f. of stuff into a 24 x 24 room.
Painter, what's going on with Hurricane Ida? Hope she decides to chill or visit some other place. What are you doing to prepare your house? Do you board up the windows? What do you do with the horses to keep them safe? How's your dd feeling? Would love to see a picture of the deck your building...bet it's gorgeous.
Shelly, how's the leak? Does it only happen when you flush? Do you have another bathroom you can use? How's little Watson doing? When you mentioned the chewing up the peepad, it sounds like boredom or teething. You're such a great dog mommie, I'm sure you'll figure it all out. Hope you aren't working too much. He's going to do Bella if he gets a chance. Did you ever hear back from your e-mail to Hammy?
Joy, what's going on in Boquet these days? Are the holidays over? That's great about the new president lowering your electric rates. So you don't own property down there? Just renting? How's Misty?
Dogmom, it's so obvious that you are not feeling well enough to be able to work. What is wrong with those s.s. people!
Goldie, what are you up to these days?

I want a kitchen Aid mixer so bad....some day I will get one. Which one do you have? What color?
Just fair warning....I think (Lace would probably know for sure) you can get your hands slapped for giving out too many reps at one time.

Amy, sorry to hear your kids are living in less than ideal situations/places. Maybe they will end up in MO before long!
Yes, the leak seems to only happen when I flush. I have a bathroom down in the game room that I am using now.
I thought the chewing up the pee pad was from boredom, never gave teething a thought. You could be onto something here. Oh I know he'll do Bella the first chance he gets and she wants it bad because she just throws herself in front of him and spreads her legs! I HAVE to get him neutered next month before he goes to stay with them during my cruise in Jan.
No, I have not heard back from Hammy.... I wish she would post just to say hi.

Tex, I also have a kitchen aid mixer, finally bought myself one about 4 years ago....all those years of little boys at home, cookie baking, and I get the darn thing when they are adults, lol. I do use it, I don't have a hand mixer anymore...the Kitchen Aid does about everything..Mine is RED. They have some awesome colors out now..oh and I had not thought about Sir Watson teething either, but yeah thats why they chew shoes, purses, love that leather for the teeth..oh and don'tforget wood..my coffee table has lots of teething markes on the legs..gives it character I guess..
We had fun at the housewarming...saw a few 'kids' I had not seen for a while, plus the parents of the homeowners. our son grew up with Eric who owns the house with his girlfriend Jennifer...Eric and our son have known each other since kindergarten...and Jen went to high school with my boys and she went to senior prom with our younger son...and I worked at their high school so I go way back with them all...anyway, I wish I had felt better but we stayed about 4 hours..believe me the party was just getting started when we headed home, lol.
I had let them have my old dining set and hutch, you now the country oak style. Darn is should have taken a pic of it yesterday..they re did the whole thing. It is now black distressed and looks awesome. I told Eric, ok looks great, I'll take it home how, lol! But it makes you think old stuff we have can be refinished..the brain is whirling...whirling..whirling..
Tambre, glad your kids are in apartments, I know how hard this is for you...between the stress of selling, getting the kids settled, dealing with lots of memories and looking forward to your new life..it's tough. Been there. You are doing just fine
How do you give out too much reputation? I try to give out reps but I can barely ever do it..EVER.
Well, will hop back on a little later, got about 4 hours sleep and thats not going to do it..dozing as I type..later campers..

I have a difficult time giving out reps also. But I did read once that if you are dealing out a bunch of reps within a 24 hr period--you can be hand slapped for that. I will have to figure out where I read that and then let y'all know.
I would have loved to have seen pics of your old dining set/hutch redone in black distressed look.
WHich kitchen Aid mixer do you have--there are several kinds? I want one so bad!

Yeah, you can only rep so many people in 24 hours - i've had it tell me that too and then actually was able to rep someone like 30 minutes later lol

Ah the joys of moving LOL Just keep out the ones you think you may need and pack the rest.
Lorrie, girlfriend, I'm so relieved that Gary had a clean bill of health. You had me worried there with him having a cough. There is a lesson there to appreciate all we have, especially the people we care about in our lives.
Amen sister.
Sorry to hear that girl - remember when I went to CA for a while and I liked to burn inscense. Rented a room with access to a garden area in a big A## house with one other girl downstairs, and our landlord Jeff upstairs. Anyway, the neighbor complained that she thought one of his renters was smoking pot because she smelled inscense It was like, dang, some people burn it because for mediation you freak! Hopefully they'll be able to find another place and maybe rethink renting a place together if need be. My DS has 4 roommates who live in the main house and any 'freak' renter lives in the loft in the barn lol
Hey, maybe they'll all have to come out to Missouri with my dh and I. Hopefully it won't be for a few months, until we have figured out how to fit 2600 s.f. of stuff into a 24 x 24 room.
Well ya never know! If not, still think maybe since they've lived together forever, just find a place together and learn how to play nice - I know you said one was a neat freak and one a little sloppy, but . . .
Yeah Carol keep us posted! Sure you're getting things ready just in case and hope DD feeling better too - and what do you do with horsies when these come through? I know you've been through this before so know they have their safe place too.
Joy, what's going on in Boquet these days? Are the holidays over? That's great about the new president lowering your electric rates. So you don't own property down there? Just renting? How's Misty?
Oh honey, they've just started lol Tuesday I think is another one (when the woman 'shouted' the independence from Columbia) then at end of the month independence from Spain - it's pretty much never ending holidays through Easter. Catholic country and all - December 8 is Mother's Day here and it's a national holiday.
No I don't own - thought i was married so of course no good wife just buys property until hubbie here - then found out WHOOPS lol Anyway, at $140 a month really don't care, ya know? At some point maybe a place at the beach to 'get away', but I'm so happy where I live outside of Boquete, not having to fix things, already owned houses (with the headaches) - kind of nice to let someone else fix things when they break down, ya know? So maybe down the line - ideally a little place on the beach on the Pacific side so I could drive there from Boquete and would actually like a houseboat for over in Bocas because of calm waters - stay there when I go to my other office then either rent it out when not there or something.

Just fair warning....I think (Lace would probably know for sure) you can get your hands slapped for giving out too many reps at one time.
I don't think you get smacked, Shelly - just can only give out so many before they tell you you have to wait for 24 hours. I've gotten the message several times because I go to several forums and some good posts and never got smacked. Just the message that I exceeded how many people I could rep within 24 hours.
Amy, sorry to hear your kids are living in less than ideal situations/places. Maybe they will end up in MO before long!
Yes, the leak seems to only happen when I flush. I have a bathroom down in the game room that I am using now.
Well thank God for that 2nd bathroom - I'd literally be out of luck because I only have one bathroom. Course it is only 1 level so . . .
I thought the chewing up the pee pad was from boredom, never gave teething a thought. You could be onto something here. Oh I know he'll do Bella the first chance he gets and she wants it bad because she just throws herself in front of him and spreads her legs! You know I didn't think about that either - Misty chews on everything including my hands. I look like wild animals have been attacking me. Know she still has her baby teeth so maybe they're both going through the teething thing like babies. Watson teething, Bella in diapers lol and what a little , flinging herself at him spreading 'em like 'come get me big boy' lol
No, I have not heard back from Hammy.... I wish she would post just to say hi.

Dang - I was hoping when you emailed her we'd get some news. Just 'everything fine, just busy etc.' Well gonna say some prayers she writes you back soon so we know everything is OK.

LOL about your coffee table - and yes it does give it character. Sasha was the only one who didn't chew anything, just loved to play with tissue.

Exactly - sounds just beautiful and so many ways to make things look beautiful again. Love the distressed look.
How do you give out too much reputation? I try to give out reps but I can barely ever do it..EVER.
Is it just with some people or everyone? I go to different forums like the photo forum,or cat forum, as well as the RE and don't have problems - there have been a few in the RE forum I had problems repping, but usually just because I hadn't spread it around enough and had repped them recently. Now if you rep someone and don't spread it around, then it won't let you rep the same person again - guess to make sure 'friends' don't just rep 'friends' to rack their points out.
Well, will hop back on a little later, got about 4 hours sleep and thats not going to do it..dozing as I type..later campers..

Hope you have a good nap Barb. Think I need something to go with my cerveza - like food lol. See you all later! Maybe I'll post a Sunday funny!

Yea...my sister is worried that Watson will nail her next week-end. I told her...just keep her diaper on her.
Since Misty Rose is an indoor cat, do you plan on declawing her? How about some more pics of our beautiful little girl?
