Well, he contacted us (regarding another matter) before we could contact him. . .and mentioned possibly seeing the home tomorrow. So, I am glad we did not have to go the route of seeing the home with the listing agent.

Manderly6: He does work in the office with other agents. . .so maybe next time, we can consider having one of them show us a home if he's unavailable.

That's what happens out here. The big REO listing agents tell you to call your agent. They won't show you the house.

The smaller REO agents have the time and do show their own properties.

If I as your buyer's agent were that busy (or out of town) I would get an agent in my office to show the property to you. I do this for others, just to be able to ask them to return the favor. Sometimes we pay the other agent a small sum to cover gas, etc., or take them to lunch, something like that. I agree that if you remind your agent that you are really interested in that house, he/she still doesn't arrange it for you, he/she takes the chance that you will call the listing agent, thereby possibly encountering a procuring cause issue if you purchase that house.
