Using inspiration from this thread, last night I sprinkled my salmon liberally with salt & pepper, baked until almost done & then covered in brown sugar, cranked up the heat & let the brown sugar melt & bubble up.

Wow. Definitely a new favorite, thanks for posting!

What we need, however, is more quick, easy recipes for making it.

What we've done (that we find delicious but we know will get boring) is gotten a fresh cut from the store, rubbed some McCormick's Salmon Rub (Sweet Citrus Spice) on it, and baked it in the oven. Surprising delicious and subtle at the same time.

We need more recipes!!!!

Remember...we prefer nothing too complicated (I'll save that for my other cooking days), but if it's delicious, tell me about it anyway.

Thanks!
here is my recipe:

all i do is i take a fillet, pour a little oil in a bowl and let the fillet soak in the oil for a few mins, the rub in lowry's seasoned salt, garlic powder and onion powder. throw it on the george foreman. i make butter garlic sauce for it too. take butter and sprinkle garlic powder, throw in the microwave and melt it. serve with toast. a great snack/breafast/brnuch/lunch/dinner anytime.

I don't really use a recipe- boil chopped potatoes a bit until still firm. Put milk, drained canned corn, sauted chopped garlic, sauted chopped onion in pot. Simmer until warm. Add cubed fileted salmon & potatoes. Cook until salmon is done- doesn't take long. Add pepper to taste.

But the BEST, the VERY BEST salmon chowder on the planet is Gwin's- a must stop on the Kenai peninsula up here in Alaska. Here is their famous recipe made with smoked salmon:

Scroll down for the recipe... it's a bit blurry but well worth it!

Usually I sprinkle it with lemon juice and black pepper. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.

Sometimes I'll mix honey, mustard and olive oil together and use as a baste.

I'll also use honey bbq sauce as a baste.

We usually bake it but I love salmon wood smoked on the grill. That is just so good...
