Everyone has their individual tastes of course. I rarely ever use Miracle Whip ...it seems to go good with cheese. If I make a pimento cheese sandwich I might use M/W but just as soon use Mayo. By all means squeeze all liquid from the tuna and add just enough mayo to bind. After all you'll want to put mayo on your bread. I like to mince dill pickle or (relish can be used)a little celery minced and even some bell pepper minced is a good addition. For a sweet version add a pinch of sugar and diced (fine) apple. Omit pickle & bell pepper maybe for sweet version.
I tried the Starkist Solid Light Tuna Fillet as recommended by a few people here. It's good!!! I'll be buying that one from now on. Thanks for the recommendation
How come my tuna salad never comes out the same way as when it's ordered out? Whats the secret ingredient? Tuna from the bagel store or deli is so good. I can never get mine to come out the same way.
I use mayo, tsp of mustard and relish. Sometimes chopped up egg, s/p, onion, a dash of dill. What am I missing?
Diced apples..or even diced pears...sliced grapes...be creative
we get the pears that are still hard..and dice them up and put them in our tuna salad..it adds a nice crunch to it
It's neither relish, sweet pickle nor dill pickles: it's tuna, diced onion and mayo, mixed together and served between slices of crusty rye bread, then diagonally-sliced, with a half-sour pickle and potato chips on the side.
Its 12:56AM here and now I'm craving a tuna salad > Looks like I will be hitting the store first thing in the morning :P
The same thing happened to me after reading the thread.
