Flour tortillas can be used for sandwiches instead of bread. They work just like a flat bread except they are a little thinner. I also make tortilla pinwheels. Mix a smashed clove of garlic, TBSp of chopped black olives, a TBSP of minced red bell pepper or pimento with 8 oz of cream cheese. You can use green, yellow, or even hot peppers if you want some spice. My measurements aren't exact so do it how you want to. Spread the tortilla with the mixture, roll, and cut into slices. I don't know how many tortillas worth this makes. You can also use the tortillas as a base for a pizza. Top and bake. Cinnamon crispas are also tasty. Brush tortillas with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake until crispy.

You can cut corn torts into 1/2" or smaller strips, fry and dry them, salt and seasonings optional. Thay are nice on soups, salads, casaroles or whatever. Of course you can always cut them in quarters for homemade tortilla chips, this is great way to use older torts

When I BBQ I make lots of Texas Hot Dogs...they cook way fast and holds beer drinking friends till the main food is ready...

wrap franks with corn tortilla...can pan fry. I place in the pit till tortilla is crispy and dog is smoky and hot. Serve with jalepeno mustard and bbqsauce/ketchup mix...or go all out and make a smooth guacamole

A variation on the pizza crust idea is to take one flour tortilla and rub the bottom with oil, then sprinkle the top with some mozzarella and place another tortilla on top. Then you can put on sauce and toppings and bake about 15 minutes. With two tortillas held together with cheese you get a nice crust that is not going to break apart on you, and..........IT'S EXTRA CHEESE!

Default what to do with tortillas

Occasionally I buy tortilla bread because it looks like it has such a potential for something good to be done with it. But the tortillas always end up not being used because I can't come up with anything special to do with them. But I still feel they have the potential for something tasty being added in combination. Does anyone have any ideas for what to use tortillas for that they wouldn't use other breads for.

Do you mean the round flat kind?

I usually make egg white quesadillas or sandwich wraps.

I put cheese & spinach inside them, like a sandwich & fry or grill till the tortillas are crispy.

Or do a tortilla rollup, spread cream cheese on tortilla add whatever you like, ( cold cuts, or lettuce, sliced tomatoes etc) & roll up into a cylinder. These are fun to eat. When cut they look like wagon wheels.

Breakfast taquitos-
butter them and stuff with scrambled eggs and chopped bacon -top with a little fresh salsa- shredded cheese is optional (I prefer mine with a spoonful of sour cream and some avocado)..

the bacon is a must for that "breakfast-y" touch
