Thanks for the recipe. I have a big glass jar in my kitchen and usually keep it filled with pretzels so the kids can nibble, but I like the idea of buying bags of ingredients and mixing them up. I've been thinking of making some Chex mix for a change, but baking and mixing all of it can be a pain. Good idea about the gorp.

I have a small pop-up canister I use to make my own snack mixes.

I usually get my ingredients from the bulk aisle at a store such as Sprouts.

I like wasabi peas and mixed nuts right now with a few rice crackers. Hmmm maybe I should try adding some fruit to that equation for a touch of sweetness...

Maybe dried mango or papaya? Something exotic.

One thing I really miss from our move is Henry's Market. They don't have them here. Henry's had barrels and barrels of bulk snacks at good prices. Lots of dried fruit, nuts, granola and other cererals, different kind of rice cracker mixes ...

Henry's Farmers Markets has merged with Sprout's - all the Henry's will be renamed by the end of 2012

(So far, they're still the same inside )

For those that have made this recipe, do you use unsalted almonds or salted?

I purchased salted but I think they may have too much salt.

Thanks

I'm also using Ocean Spray's Craisins, dried blueberries, instead of cranberries.
