It's as big as a dang canoe -- almost a yard long and 6" across -- and I need some army-sized recipes for it.

Default Giant pink banana squash seeds

Does anyone know where I can get seeds for this wonderful squash? I used to plant them over 20 years ago and now want to grow a few again. I tried the Jumbo variety but they are just not the same.

You can pickle some of it.....slice it into about 1/4 inch slices, then thickly julienne them and pickle them. My mom used to pickle zucchini squash like that. Yum.

Yikes - that thing would require a leash where I live.

I want one - I'd never heard of these until I came across this thread. I'm going to have to find some seeds and grow my own.

with lot os veggies comming into season, my suggestion is try "Calabasita" with chicken or pork. Calabasita means squash in Spanish.

I love this dish. It has squash, fresh corn, fresh tomatos, and pork or chinken. You can leve the meat out for a delicious side dish or meatless dish.

PS...it is so easy to make.

Do not try to order anything from Penya seeds. They took my money and never shipped. Then I found out they are listed as "F" by the Better Business Bureau for that very reason.

What on earth is a giant pink banana squash? It sounds like a genetic experiment gone bad. LOL

It's a winter squash with a pinkish skin, long, narrow and banana-shaped. If radioactive it could definitely become sentient and start planning a world takeover. Like so:
