It was posted on Facebook but I'm not on Facebook. If you have the recipe referenced in this article, please post it so we can all enjoy great pizza!

It isn't pizza. It is something else with those inclusions.

Reading between the lines of the article-

1 pkg yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1 cup milk, scalded
1 Tbsp sugar ?
1 Tbsp shortening ?
1 Tbsp salt ?
3.5 cup flour
1 egg

With all that liquid, it is going to be a sticky high hydrated dough. Scalding the milk will sweeten it a little, so the dough is going to begin to have a slight cake-like quality.

Good guess! I thought those might be the ingredients but wanted to know what others saw in the blurred out words, which is why I posted this thread. Still, so many people are still on Facebook I thought someone might have seen the unblurred version.

You could use 2 T water to proof the yeast, so that might make it less sticky.

I'd use olive oil instead of shortening, which is a transfat.

The egg makes the dough more cake like, i.e. brioche, challah

Interesting fact about scalding milk that I just found:

The whey protein in milk can weaken gluten and prevent the dough from rising properly. Scalding the milk deactivates the protein so this doesn’t happen.

I'll have to remember that for future recipes using milk.

I don't need a secret recipe. The secret to good pizza ifs to make your own sauce and do not skimp on the spices and herbs and especially the garlic. Make a good strongly flavored sauce, use good cheese, use quality toppings, and your pizza will be better than anything from a pizzeria. The pizzeria has to keep costs down, and you don't. You can buy the herbs and spices and use them with a heavy hand to get a great sauce.

I’ve never heard of egg in pizza dough ……or milk either. I think I’ll just stick to my recipe.
