OK we all have baked a ham but what is your favorite way to do it? For years I've baked mine in Coke but I really want to see if something peaks my interest in trying it a different way. My kids are not excited for me to try a different way they will eat it how I bake it but always prefer the Coke method best.

So..........

I rub the entire thing with brown sugar (about a cup). Then I pour pure maple syrup on it (about a half cup). Then I pour two cups of pineapple juice over it all and bake or heat through until done. Baste occasionally. YUM-O!

eta: Definitely do cover it tightly with foil.

I wrap the ham in foil, rather tightly, and put it into a roasting pan on a lower rack @325 degrees - 20 minutes per pound.
I baked one just yesterday and I have another one in the refrigerator. I love ham!

I cheat, and buy the never-fail Honey Baked Ham. It's tasty, honey-sweet and I've never had a bad one. It's a lean ham, smoked up to 24 hours, then spiral-sliced to the bone so each slice is perfect.

Two years ago I bought a fresh ham and cooked it myself. It was such a waste of money, fatty and tasteless. I'll never leave Honey Baked again!

I use this recipe without pineapple, cherries, or coconut. I would use pineapple, but I am the only one in the family that likes it.

I use a half cup of brown sugar, a half teaspoon of allspice, a tablespoon of water and a half cup of OJ concentrate. To die for.

I score it and make small "x"'s, pack each score with brown sugar, then stick cloves into many of the scores. Then I place toothpicks all over it, with a ring of pineapple and a marachino cherry on each toothpick. I top the whole thing with some of the juice from the can of pineapple rings, then 1 cup of grenadine. Cover and bake, basting occasionally. For the last 30 minutes or so, I bake it uncovered. Prior to serving I remove and discard the cloves, and reduce the pan drippings, (which is mostly pineapple juice and grenadine), and serve it in a gravy boat.

I add a couple of dashes of tabasco to the basting liquid and/or pico degallo powder to the sugar glaze. No one has ever been able to figure it out but everyone including kids lap it up. The capsicum is a flavor enhancer and brightens the palate as well.

Gotta make sure not to add to much though.

I make s typical Swedish Christmas ham. Cook it in the oven until finished. Take it out and cover the ham with spicy swedish mustard and then bread crumbs. Put it back in the oven for another 30 minutes or until brown..

This is a kahlua baked ham recipe I've used dozens of times. It's simple and it's always a hit (I use more kahlua than the recipe calls for!):
