Italian Chicken
6 frozen chicken breasts
1 pkg dry Italian dressing
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 brick cream cheese (regular is much better than low fat cream cheese for this recipe)

Place all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours. Chicken is so yummy and moist!

You can serve this over pasta, rice of even potatoes if you choose!

^^ I use boneless myself, but I don't see that bone in would be an issue, I just don't like dealing with the bones with the sauce!

A slightly different version.
I'll admit it, I'm a mushroom nut

6 boneless skinless chicken breasts, frozen or defrosted
4 to 12 oz sliced mushrooms (if canned, drained and rinsed)
1 pkg dry Italian dressing
8 oz cream cheese, cubed small as possible and softened
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Layer ingredients in list order in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours.
(I usually remove the chicken when done and whisk the 'gravy' to make sure there are no cream cheese chunks left. You can also do this at the 3 hour mark if you're home)

If you use frozen, the 'gravy' will usually be thinner.

Should the chicken be thawed first?

It is not necessary, you can put it in frozen, but since that will add to the "water content" of the sauce, it will be a little thinner as stated in the mushrooms added version above your post.

BTW, I LOVE mushrooms, this sounds REALLY good to add!!!

Ya know, I was thinking it might be interesting with dressing as the starch....I really LIKE gravy with my dressing at Thanksgiving...
