Whether it's something you created, one that was passed down through the generations, or found in a cookbook or online, what is the #1 recipe you most like to prepare at home?

Favorite one? That's too hard to answer. I'd even have trouble choosing within a category.

Macaroni and Cheese using the cheese sauce I created myself.
I could almost eat it daily with a wee bit of variation along the way.

"Company Chicken" -- its a chicken casserole with Ritz crackers on top. So yummy! But I'm a vegetarian and sub the chicken for soy chicken instead.

It's hard to have just one. There are so many things I love. But I think if I narrowed it down, my favorite two would be my bolognesse sauce and my chilli. I choose those two not because they are my favorite thing to eat (though I do quite enjoy both), but because both are recipes that I took from my mom (who was a very bland/below average cook) and was able to turn into something special. So there is that connection to my mom/family heritage, while also being something that I have been able to develop that gets rave reviews.

It is really hard to sellect just one, but I guess if I had to, it would be my blue cheese dressing, made with sour cream, butter milk, garlic, mayo, a little olive oil, a little lemon juice and of course a lot of blue cheese. that reminds me, I need to buy blue cheese and butter milk to make some. We keep it all the time in the fridge.
