Never ever heard of them. But something that kooky needs to be made. I'm so on this next time I shop.
Wait can I use kosher instead?
My batch is in the fridge. Half a gallon of pickles is only around $4, so not much money is wasted if they aren't appreciated. You can always use the Kosher pickle spears. Wally has those in the 64oz (half gallon) size ($4).
Hey, just think of the reactions when you bring out the koolickles at your next party and/or July 4th.

4th of July...hmmmm...genius! We always bring something for the cookout. This will solidify my family's opinion of me!!
I first heard about Koolickles from Alton Brown's Feasting on Asphalt where he rode his motorcycle to different places looking for new and different foods. I've never tried them, but I've made the pickles that use sour pickles, tobasco, sugar, and the same basic process. They come out like a hot/sweet/sour pickle, and I love them. I bet the Koolickles are good. I'd sure try one.
