I never had it without green olives. Perhaps it's just the Cuban style. I always make the Goya recipe.

I put the green olives in at the last.

Same here, my son inhaled it.

I found the tomato sauce too thick, but I'm not a Ropa Vieja "expert". When I lived in So FL, it was one of my favorite dishes at the Cuban restaurants and I recall the sauce a little thinner.

But it was still good!
