Apparently coconut is one of those foods that people either love or hate...like cilantro.

That said, I didn't make up the recipe...someone more than 20 years ago did...and strictly speaking it is not pecan pie because it doesn't have that sugary karo syrup filling - it is chocolate with pecans...and coconut!

I had an aunt who put coconut on everything. Mix some in with gravy? Absolutely. Hamburgers? Yep. Turkey stuffing? Must have.

She claimed it made foods "fancy". She even added it to groundhog.
