I just purchased the Cook's Essential 5 Cup Perfect Cooker and I LOVE IT!

First, let me say that for pasta and soups, etc. it would be great for two people with some leftovers if you're not big eaters.
I made the meatloaf, which turned out perfect (the only change I made was adding brown sugar to my ketchup for the glazed topping...I like mine sweet )

My question is, has anyone else purchased this and, if so, any ideas for great recipes? So far I've made fried rice, steamed eggs and meatloaf.
I want to try and make Ham n Beans today. Simple recipe (my own).

Ham n Beans

Ham Steak cut into cubes
Russet Potato Peeled and Cubed
Yellow Onion, chopped
Green Onions, chopped
Jar Great Northern Beans (already done and easier)

I used to make it in my pressure cooker, but I purchased the Perfect Cooker for smaller portions, as I am on a weight loss program. I also got tired of dragging my heavy pressure cooker out and cleaning it.
With this little Perfect Cooker all there is to clean is the little 5 cup non stick insert!

Never made potatoes in this so I'm experimenting today.

Not sure what to layer first in the bottom. Thinking ham, in case there is a little crusting on the bottom, that would just make the ham better.

Any ideas? Not sure how long it will take the potatoes to cook, but everything else just needed to be heated and thickened up a bit.

Thanks for any new recipes ideas anyone may have.

Is it just a slow cooker?

Default It's basically a rice cooker

Basically steams until liquid is absorbed, so if you cook rice just one button. If you're making soup you need to set the timer.

Hope this helps. I purchased it from QVC, but they have others elsewhere. I purchased this one because it's digital as opposed to just a simple ON switch, which takes it to warm when it's done.

Oh, okay. I have an Aroma rice cooker that is also a combo steamer and slow cooker, with push-butting settings and programming. Same thing, from the sounds of it.

There is the original, smaller one , just on and warm button.
Mine is the larger 5 cup that's digital from QVC.

The digital has the option of setting a timer.
