I made this simple 'Chili Mac' recipe last night and it needs something to give it some flavor and I don't know what to add. this is the recipe: 2 packages of macaroni and cheese
can of dices tomatoes
1 pound ground beef
1 package taco seasoning
salt and pepper
As you can see it is a simple recipe but definitely needs something to give it some pickup in flavor. Any suggestions? Onions? Maybe some spices?
Get yourself a jar of chili powder - as stated, those packets don't have much flavor and they are only for a small amount IMO. Add chili powder to taste - also a couple shakes of red pepper flakes, a couple dashes of hot sauce...... yum.

Carmelize some onions. Proceed as you did. Add chili powder to taste. Open a can of chopped chili peppers & drain. Toss those in.
Hot sauce
Chili powder
Diced jalapenos
Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (canned)
