It's great with pork roast or pork tenderloin! Just heat it and pour over.

For a simple yet satisfying dessert my grandmother used to make a batch of crepes, roll-up filled with applesauce and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar.

I made my own because I am trying to avoid foods with preservatives and ingredients I cannot pronounce.
3-4 pounds apples peeled, cored and sliced (I used golden delicious)
1 cup water
1 Tsp. or more cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar depending on how sweet you like it
2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 lemon peels (no pith)
1 cup water

Place everything in a large pot and bring to a boil, simmer for 25 minutes. I like it chunky so I lightly mashed with a potato masher. Let cool remove lemon peels, place in a 1 qt container. I would have thought this made more. But that's ok because 1 qt is enough for 2 of us. I can always make more if needed. I will make this for Thanksgiving.
