This is a delicious Fall recipe! Top it with whipped cream, coconut cream or ice cream
Or enjoy alone.

Please use pears that are perfectly ripe, sweet and juicy. Under-ripe pears
will yield a dry dessert.

8 medium sized ripe pears
8 T real maple syrup.
3T whole wheat or all purpose flour
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1/8 tsp sea salt.
3/4 cup quick cooking rolled oats cinnamon for topping
1/4 tsp. cinnamon, ginger to taste for toping

1. preheat oven to 375 F
2. core pears and slice thinly. In a large bowl toss the sliced pears with 3T of the maple syrup
sprinkle with flour and spices. Place in a 2 qt. baking dish. Bake uncovered 25 minutes.

3. For topping, combine oats, pecans, salt remainder of maple syrup, remainder of spices
Spoon over partially cooked pears.


4. Bake, uncovered for 30 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned. Serve warm.

Pears are on sale this week for an attractive price . I'm glad to have this recipe available. It looks wonderful and I'm going to give it a try.

Big plus, this one is extremely easy to convert to gluten free.
