Looking for easy sauces to use while stir frying Asian dishes with vegetables. I have a few, just looking for more. Not a long list of ingredients, please.

Thanks!

I like bottled oyster sauce with dark green vegetables like broccoli or greens, also both good with mushrooms.

Much of my "Debsi-Chinese" food is flavored with fresh ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and toasted sesame oil.

You can also use the bottled "Garlic Black Bean Sauce". When I make my own it does have a few ingredients:

Rice Wine Vinegar
Soy Sauce
Cornstarch
Ginger
Sesame Oil
Oyster Sauce

That's pretty much how I do it as well.

I vary them but often use some or all of the following:

sesame or toasted sesame oil
sesame seeds as garnish
garlic
scallions
rice wine vinegar or brown rice wine vinegar
soy sauce
ground white pepper
ginger
cayenne, occasionally
cornstarch if a bit of thickening or body is desired—but a little goes a long way!

Some people like to add sugar but I dislike it except in desserts.

I found this recipe awhile back and it makes a great basic sauce that you can use as is or modify. I buy a garlic ginger paste in a jar at the Indian grocery store that makes it easier than having to grate or chop the ginger and garlic.

Those are the basics of mine too...

Thanks Debsi

If you have it, use some chicken fat in the sauce.
