My version of Green Goddess is a version of the above except instead of mayo I use avocado. (Not a fan of mayo generally)

Default Your go-to homemade salad dressing recipe?

On the list of things better than store-bought, I think salad dressing is way up there. IMO there is a huge difference in flavor mixing up my own than pouring it out of a bottle.

Tonight, I took a shaker bottle and mixed up:

Crushed fresh garlic
Soft bleu cheese crumbles
Balsamic vinegar
Olive Oil
Dried Thyme
Cracked Pepper

Shook it up until the mixture was emulsified and the blue cheese had all but dissolved. It was awesome.

Do you make your own salad dressings? If so, care to share your ingredients?

Olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice - dropped in one by one, at eye level, and then all mixed in the bowl :-).

Red wine vinegar, olive oil, dijon mustard, maybe some fresh herbs if I'm feeling fancy.

I rarely buy ready-made salad dressings. I'll buy Bleu Cheese or Ranch more for dipping wings and veggies.

-red wine vinegar, EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), salt, fresh black pepper, a dash of garlic powder and a dash of herbs de provence

-fresh squeezed lemon, EVOO, salt and fresh black pepper

^For those I sometimes mix the dressing separately then add it to the salad or sometimes I just add everything to the salad and then toss.

I used to use balsamic vinegar until I tasted a balsmic dressing made from a balsamic glaze. I like how the glaze sticks to the salad. For this you have to mix the glaze and oil together so it emulsifies otherwise the glaze won't be lose enough to coat the salad.
