Pepperoni Batter Bread

3 cups plain flour
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 cup chopped pepperoni (or cooked, drained & crumbled sausage)
1 1/4 cups warm water

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm (not hot) water. Then combine all ingredients in a large bowl, mixing well. Place in a greased loaf pan (9 X 5) and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Excellent for grilled cheese sandwiches.

* I added more chopped pepperoni and extra Italian seasoning to this. May also add some heat, if you like it more spicy. I grilled the slices with mozzarella cheese.

That looks good. I used to make a pepperoni & cheese bread. The mozzarella was added to the dough, along with oregano.

I was looking for it myself a while back and can't seem to find it. I think it was in the booklet that came with my first bread machine, which broke before I moved and probably I threw out the book and the machine in the frenzy of packing.

It wasn't a batter bread, it was a kneaded dough. If you're familiar with making bread, I'd suggest that you just do a basic bread recipe, say 1 1/4 cups water/3 cups flour, with the addition of maybe 1/2 to 1 cup of grated mozzarella and 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni, plus oregano or Italian seasoning. Maybe 1 tblsp. of olive oil, but you wouldn't need much shortening with the cheese in the dough.

I used to make this bread into rolls, and they made a nice, tasty and portable lunch.

Sorry I can't find the actual recipe for you.

This is the one that I always make...it's awesome! I found the recipe on Allrecipes.

INGREDIENTS

* 1 (1 pound) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
* 1 egg, beaten
* 4 ounces sliced pepperoni sausage
* 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
* 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
2. Roll frozen bread dough out into a rectangle. Brush dough with beaten egg. Arrange pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese over the dough. Sprinkle on the Italian seasoning. Roll up dough like a jelly roll and pinch seam to seal; place, seam side down, on prepared baking sheet.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until golden.
