Default Fox recipe?!?

My neighbor and his family hunt and fish alot. Last winter I cooked some rabbits that he had and it turned out really good. So I was talking to him yesterday about food and he said that his relative brought him 2 gray foxes. I looked in my game cookbook but it didn't have anything.

Anyone cook fox before?

I have a cookbook at home with recipes for all sorts of game animals, but I'm not there right now. I'm up in Maine. Did you google fox recipes? Or wild game recipes, etc?

No CM, I didn't. I looked in my game cookbook and didn't look anywhere else. I'll try to google it now.

That would be like eating a dog to me. Never ever heard of anyone eating a fox.

Oh ick...I can't imagine eating a fox. I've eaten about everything else, but never heard of eating a fox. But.....I have a fox in the woods behind me and it makes horrible screaming sounds....anyone who wants to hunt him down, come on over....I'll even feed you.....no fox on the menu for lunch!

Sorry to remind, but an estimated 500,000 dogs are slaughtered for consumption each year in the Philippines alone. I agree - eating a fox would be akin to eating a dog in my book - it just isn't done.
