Smoked Pacific Salmon is smoked lox.

lox = salmon

Now I won't dispute that wild caught salmon is superior to farmed salmon.

Now excuse me while I pick up some smoked Pacific lox :-) Too bad I can't get a decent bagel in Albuquerque.

I've been looking at this thread for days - and honestly, I can't tell you! I have more than one - they all switch between number one and elsewhere on the list depending on so many things, I can't even list them out. I like a BUNCH of them, and a bunch of them are my favorite at any given time, but their numbers are legion so I won't bore you all.

Smile Can't pick one....

In no particular order:

- Cheesesteak from Pat's, whiz wit. Tony Luke's will do also.

- French Dip made with good prime rib on a crusty roll with horseradish mayo or sour cream. lot's of jus.

- Mussolini's Revenge, Italian Stallion.... It's got many names. You know the one with Italian cold cuts and cheese and it must have lettuce, tomato, roasted red peppers and onion all sliced as thinly as possible. Especially the lettuce so it can absorb all the extra oil and vinegar I want on it. With pepper and oregano.

Honorary mention: An Italian Beef from Chicago. In my imagination it belongs on the list but as I've never had one. Well someday.

Moist sliced brisket. mmmm, and if I can't have that, I'll settle for the biggest Arby's roast beef sandwich on the menu.

With sweet peppers. A great sandwich; Al's and Portillo's both have great versions. Another great Chicago original is the pepper and egg sandwich.

BLT with heavy mayo;
Fried bologna & onions
(and I have stents to prove it)

BTW: both require Wonder bread; fancy artisan junk ruins it.
