In another post, someone mentioned they think sage tastes like dirt. That got me thinking about ginger. I do not care for ginger because I think it tastes like soap. Do you have an ingredient that you think tastes/smells like something else? Just curious...

Mango smells like someone in bad need of some really strong deodorant. It has a very musty smell to me.

Grapefruit tastes like metal, though the smell isn't bad. Celery tastes like salty water and plastic.

To me, the bamboo shoots you get in Chinese foods taste like bad breath smells.
