Beefy Bunwiches Sandwiches

Roast ahead, refrigerate; reheat at serving.

Byerly's small Hard Rolls or Turkey Buns
1 (5-6 lb.) boneless rump roast
1-2 (1 oz.) envelopes dry onion soup mix
2 beef flavored bouillon cubes
2 cloves garlic, minced
tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 C. water

Arrange roast in a large roaster or Dutch oven; add water, bouillon cubes & garlic.
Sprinkle with soup mix, sugar & cinnamon.
Bake, covered, in a preheated 325 F oven until very tender (2 -3 hours)
Remove meat from juice; cool.
Skim fat from pan juices.
Slice meat very thin; return slices to juice.
Refrigerate, covered
To ServeHeat in preheated 325 F oven until heated through (about 30 min.).
Spoon meat & juice onto buns.
30-35 mini bunwiches.
Variation
Italian Beef Sandwiches:
Drain 1 (10 oz.) bottle pepperoncini in vinegar.
Cut off stems.
Slice into julienne strips.
Layer with cooked beef slices when returning to liquid.

Definitely gonna have to try this! Might even brave the snow (actually the people who don't know how to drive in snow) and make a trip to the store!

I didn't have time for any dialogue when I posted this but it is excellent! The flavors are special. I have served this as a main dish - just without the buns and people rave about it. Byerlys is an upscale grocery store here that publishes a cookbook and also has a web site with many excellent recipes from their chefs - yes, they actually have chefs! Here's their web site:

I usually make mine like that with variations or in the crockpot...the cinnamon is an interesting add! I love their wild rice omelet...
