Just as an aside.... My mother was a terrible cook, I mean REALLY bad. She didn't have a clue. I grew up thinking heartburn was a normal condition... Anyway, when I was 17 I joined the Army in Boston and was immediately sent to Ft Devins, MA for basic training. When all of us recruits arrived at Devins, before we even got uniforms, they fed us. Guess what they fed us? Right! Sh*t on a shingle! I loved it!! I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven! To this day, I love it!

Spammy Ramen...
Cook some Ramen. Throw away the seasoning pack. Add olive oil, garlic salt, and pepper. Fry up spam, and then mushrooms. Throw the contents together.... Spammy Ramen!

Un-Chili
Saute ground beef with garlic, onion and green peppers and place in a large pot, add 1 large can stewed tomatoes and 1 large can Red Kidney Beans. Add two tablespoons of sugar to balance the acid from the tomatoes. It is filling satisfying and down right tasty. Not to mention quick. It always taste better the second day when the flavors have had a chance to meld.

Here's something like northcountrygirl's recipe except without the beans.
When my kids were young they loved for me to make Chili Gravy so they could put it over mashed potatoes. Easy and quick for Sunday nite!
Recipe for 1 Pound hamburger: brown hamburger with onion and drain. Add 1 package chili mix, 1 can tomato sauce, 2 cans water, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Ladle over prepared mashed potatoes.

You are so very welcome KimoJimo. I invented un-chili because I do not like spicy foods but liked the rest of the combination in the normal chili recipies so I invented a chili without the chili spices. Try it I know you'll like it.

I take a couple pounds of ground beef, brown it and add my usual spices and some onion/pepper blend, then put in a jar or 2 of Heinz beef gravy, mix it up and put it into a 13x9 pn and pour a bag of frozen tater tots on top, spread them out and bake it around 400 degrees til the tater tots are browned. This is really good!
Oh, by the way, my mom called the sh*t-on-a-shingle stuff 'chipped beef on toast'.
Also, my mother-in-law talked about what a good cook she used to be [trust me, that is debatable] and how she used to make ''creamed tuna"---I think we all know what that is!!!

While water's boiling and then pasta's cooking:
Saute chopped onion and garlic in olive oil, add sliced pepperoni, halve grape tomatoes and add along with a touch of cream or 1/ 2 & 1/2 and salt and pepper to taste.
Drain pasta and toss with the sauce, top with grated cheese and enjoy. Less than 1/2 hour start to finish.

Ramen noodles minus seasoning ( 3 minutes to cook) and left over spaghetti meat sauce. Mmmm. 4 minutes flat! I always just toast some bread and add butter and garlic for quick "garlic toast"
