I know about ceviche but I hesitate. Can you share the black bean salsa or a great ceviche recipe?

Here's the black bean salsa recipe we like. It's really great during the summer months, and the avocado raises it to another level.

Black Bean Salsa

And here's the shrimp ceviche recipe. It's easy because you blanch the shrimp (and it also has avocado).

Is Churros already included in the 'bunch of sweets'? We also did a Mexican-themed party last year and my office mate brought Chicken Enchiladas, Fish Tacos and Black Bean Burritos - these made me want to do The Mexican Hat Dance.

Default What recipes from potlucks do people ask the recipes for most of yours

Must be other threads so call this Vol 2..

People swarmed to a friend's dish...she was very kind to freely give the recipe...
she moved away, now it's mine!

In a crockpot:

1 brick each of Swiss, mozzarella, cheddar cheeses
(Or any kind you like, really, muenster, colby, jalapeno jack...)
1 jar Pace Picante sauce
1 can refried beans, bigger cans or 2 smaller

That's it!
I add pressed fresh garlic...never from a jar or powder, of course....a little goes a long way.
You can use 8 oz or 16 oz cheeses...add more or less Pace...up to you.

Surround it with thickly sliced or chunks of French or Italian bread...good quality.
Too thick for chips.

People go nuts as I did. So simple, just need a plug at the buffet table
*I think it was the Swiss that made it better.

I guess my fruit salad and some of my appetizers. These are my favorite things to take to pot lucks. There are a few other salads people want the recipes for or at least an idea how they are made. To be honest I use so few recipes it is hard to share. Oh, my blue cheese dressing is a winner as well. The one thing I rarely bring is dessert; not my favorite or my talent.

Miss Hepburn; yours sounds great. I think I will remember that when we have ur next family pot luck at our granddaughters. We will have lots of people from out of the area as it is a 3 day celebration for our 60th wedding anniversary.

As a huge fan of both bean dip AND cheese, I will try this.

I'm wondering if it could be thinned enough for tortilla chips?

I am thinking about adding chopped jalapenos or green chiles.

Thanks for sharing it!

I get asked for my recipe for a pineapple cheese ball I make whenever I take it to any event. Just cream cheese mixed with shredded cheddar cheese and drained crushed pineapple, plus seasoning salt and a little worcestershire sauce mixed in, shaped into a ball and rolled in chopped pecans and served with crackers.

Our mayo-less slaws, collards, especially our take on cabbage rolls using collars as the wrapper, dirty rice or jambalaya as the filling and spicy Creole sauce. Homemade andouille sausage and gumbo.
