I make a similar one from the "Cake Doctor" book. I reserve some of the jello from the cake to add to the frosting as well as some strawberries. the frosting has a wonderful pink color and the jello helps the frosting set up as well.

My daughters did "Walk for the cure" and to raise money they sold cookies and cakes. We sold 40 of these Pink cakes at $25 dollars each.

I also had a few customers that wanted a Lemon Lime cake. So I used the strawberry cake recipe and goofed around until I had a green cake tasting of lemon lime and the frosting was smashing good.

Thank you Tnhoneypot! I'm making this for an event tomorrow. I was looking for something yummy and I'll bet this fits the bill. I'm going to place whole strawberries all over the cream cheese icing....

Resurrecting this thread. It's almost summertime here in North Carolina and this has become my very favorite warm weather cake - especially with fresh picked strawberries. I made it this morning for an Easter get together. It is always a huge hit. Thanks again to Tnhoneypot!

Our neighbor made this cake last week for Easter. After she was done, she generously gave it to us! It was delicious and it did indeed look exactly like the photograph at the start of this thread. I'm pleased to find the recipe on here. Now I can add it to my own collection and make it for my family.

Strawberries are in season and I love it!
