I watched the earlier seasons. It was kicky and fun with lots of pretty shoes.

I am in the age demographic of those characters - the show had ZERO impact on me.

The times I did watch it it was more like watching animals at the zoo - fascinating, but not very thought provoking.

Sometimes you just need to vegetate in front of the tube and not think. My vegetation show was Seinfeld. Most of us have at least one.

I think his threads should be forwarded to all his female co-workers.

I am too - I like clothes and cosmetics and a fancy restaurant or two, but for some reason it didn't do much for me. I have a friend who's an avid fan. If my life goes by and I never watch a single episode, oh well!

There is no need to apologize if one DID watch it - different people like different things. I'm sure some of the things I enjoy watching other people would laugh at.

Anybody who emulates characters they watch on a sitcom deserves all the misery life dishes out to them.

The problem is, will they accept responsibility for their choices, or blame everyone else?

Ironic question.

I think the real legacy of that show is that it sent the message that it's OK for women to act like men. Men who sleep with lots of women are called studs while women who sleep with lots of men are called ****s. No question that that's a double standard. But by writing a show where the women basically sink to the level of men, that just seems like a big step backward. The show's defenders tried to dress it up as "female empowerment." That always made me laugh.
