Some people (not you personally) but usually men, or rather boys, seem to view SEX as a pride, power and control issue, and that by rushing into it and having it earlier makes you more of a man. Nah, it makes you more of an animal. Real men have INTEGRITY and don't give into their animal drive in the name of blatant hedonism/ego/power whatever.
Fact is we live in a sex-centric society; sex promotion rampant within advertising, media, sitcoms/TV programs, and the increasing pressure this illusion puts onto people to have sex, and brainwashing idiots into believing that 20-something or older virgins are "losers". Yeah, sure. But it is all just another sign of a rapidly degrading society which is going to the dogs.

Boy guys have really changed since my day. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being a virgin. But whatever happened to people having sex just because they are horny?
Forget all the studies, forget what the other guy is or isn't doing. Forget about std,s. That's what condoms are for. What ever happened to people screw because they are horny as hel l! What is so wrong with that? Besides if you want to get technical. It is actually unhealthy to not have sex. A friend of mine (well not exactly a friend) this guy that used to date my neighbor told me how he got prostatitis from not having sex. At least that's what the doctor told him. The doctor said that sex helps prevent this condition and other similar conditions. Sex actually cleans out the system sort of speak.....Hmmm, I guess sex can't be all that bad/

I don't say "never have sex". Just have it responsibly and within a long lasting, committed relationship, preferably a marriage.
The bit about someone never having sex getting disease/illness because of it is BS to be sure however.

I don't know if it is bs. I don't think that is something someone would lie about. You know what I mean? Now Im sure masturbating in place of sex would do the job and most likely much safer. However, urinary problems are common among older men. Wait til you get in your late thirties and beyond.
Besides that, I agree with you. It is definately better to be in a relationship-married, then just out sleeping with everything. Having said that, if you aren't in a relationship or married. You might as well be out having fun.....Just be safe about it. I was always a paranoid motherfcker. Certain things I don't or shall I say didn't do on a one night stand. Going down and not use protection. Always be safe and don't do anything with your face in their crotch..Never know what they may or may not have. Looking healthy does not equate to being healthy. I know about six people currently who have HIV. I spent to many worrying nights in my early twenties, that eventually I got tested and then strapped on every time....
If your going to be somewhat promiscuous. At least be smart about it.
But I myself am in a committed relationship. So I don't worry about std's. Neither one of us are cheaters anymore...

I dont see anything wrong with a one night stand, but it can leave you feeling empty afterwards
But I agree we do live in a sex-centric society. Sex is almost literally everywhere, especially where I live

Never said you should be.
Explain what's wrong with one night stands. If two people are just looking to have some fun for a night or two, why shouldn't they? How are they losers for doing that?

And a fantastic "holyier than thou" attitude too! You're right, you don't hate the world...you just think you're better than it. I'd like to think I have integrity too. That's not just reserved for virgins you know.

I could have slept with any number of people by now, in fact I have "been to bed with" a (ex)lover but I chose not to actually physically "have sex" with them as I am saving that until I am in a totally committed relationship.
|
And that's totally fine.

Shows how little you know and how silly it is to make assumptions. Some people actually "choose" to wait until the time is right, as I do. It's nothing to do with "not being able to get laid" as shallow simpletons allude to.

Ha! You talk about how silly it is to assume and "how little I know"...I never said there's anything wrong with being a virgin if that's your conscious choice. That's totally fine. I know a few people who are making the same choice...but the OP is not making the choice to be a virgin. He just hasn't been fortunate enough to have sex. To me, that is a problem. I'm not looking down at him at all, but he has to try a new approach to the situation if he wants to be successful.

By all means help the lad try to get into the kind of committed relationship which can support a mature, healthy sexual relationship. But suggesting it is acceptable to go the other extreme and have one night stands etc... is not the way. To be honest the guy can do a lot better than ask for people's advice on an internet forum board.
Back to your assumptions... I don't think I'm better than anyone else, I just have reasons for ways I live my life, and stand up for them.

I agree you do stand up for them, all the while imposing your values on others.
If you can find a way to say what you have to say without positioning yourself as "morally superior". That would be nice.
Thank you.

I'd like to know how I've managed to "impose values on others" over the internet. It's not even possible, as long as you ignore what I say or disagree with it.
Everyone has a choice as to how they live their life even if they decide to be morally corrupt. They'll have to accept the consequences. There is such a thing as moral superiority. It doesn't make *me* better as a human being, but yes, I genuinely believe that certain actions are morally corrupt, such as one night stands, and that somebody who does it is acting morally inferior, as long as they choose that lifestyle. Now, shoot me down! I am only expressing an opinion.
Maybe I get sick and tired of "society" trying to impose this BS about "virgins are losers" and "everyone should be having sex and one night stands", but no, I keep my own council. Why can't you do the same? If you don't like what I'm saying, ignore it.
What about losers who bring girls to their place, get 'em drunk, so they can f*** them? Is that not imposing one's utter and complete selfishness and control over somebody? Well sorry, but there's something the scardy cats of this forum need to realise, and it's that all people aren't equal, there is a huge range of morality amongest people of the world, from your stark-raving psycopaths to a saint!
