Do you ever wonder if you should have married her while you had the chance? It sounds like you had a good thing going with her.

Oh yeah, I could have. We would have needed a bit more time separated for both of us to grow professionally and then see if it would be better for us to have me move back to Japan or her to my country or wherever I would be sent for my job or her's. *sigh* Good times .

The man should always be the one to move mountains and swim oceans for the woman, not the other way around. I think you should pack your bags and go after her before it's too late. If you don't, later in life you'll look back and realize she was the one you let slip away and you'll kick yourself.

What does being a gentleman entail? doing things for strangers because they have different sexual organs than you?...I'll pass

You think so? For me, I think that it takes two in a relationship to get things going, not just the man as it is accustomed in the west. But, whatever works for a couple I guess. T

As for this girl I was seeing back in college, this was many years ago. I moved back to Japan but it was a bit too late. I've had girls from Japan come to wherever country I am at to meet me, to my country, or I go up to where they are or their country. Another friend that went with me for vacation to the Caribbean had a connection in the US and would fly to the Caribbean a few hours later. Since she doesn't speak English I changed one of my connections to meet her where she was at and then fly together to our vacation destination. A friend from Japan just arrived 2 days ago and we went out last night . I like it when girls don't just wait for me to do it all. Just my preference.

I know, huh? But this was a couple of years ago. We both moved on and even kept in touch regardless of not seeing each other as before.

The gestures she showed me since day #1 didn't really surprise me. I dated asian girls before her so I kind of knew how it is normal for them to do those things but I did find it awesome. A gesture that totally made my heart smile. I had to call her right there when I found that note with the money and laugh with her and also thank her.

When I transferred to a university in Japan later on. I started going out with this other girl I met while asking for directions. Also, showed nice gestures since day #1. It was a pleasant surprise to find out she was studying my native language just to make me happy. Very touching .

I ask myself the same question. Imagine if men said "If you are a lady, then you'll come to my house after the date to do the housechores while I watch the game. Make sure my beer is cold when you fetch me one". I believe nice gestures shouldn't be gender specific. If so, then why not support racism as well? Which is all about treating a race way better than the others just because of their skin color.
