Broken record, eh?

OK, you dislike the liberal society we live in. So what? Perhaps look into moving into a more conservative community.

The article begins, "How did we let a sitcom convince us that self-indulgence and designer clothes were every woman's right?"

Um, speak for yourself, lady.

Never saw a single episode. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

You are definitely not. I don't feel like I missed a thing.

The early episodes of Sex and the City were gritty and open and funny, with wry observations on dating. There were episodes about dating younger men, and guys who only date models and about dirty talk and threesomes. The later seasons did become all about being label hos, but I'm not going to apologize for enjoying watching a sitcom. It didn't make me a materialistic nut-job any more than watching Two and a Half Men makes anyone a misogynist.

'Sex and the City' ran during a time when everyone was led to believe that they could have it all," says Cardella, who suffered a serious shopping addiction (compulsive buying is now a recognized psychological disorder) that left her saddled her with thousands in debt. "Not only was I having trouble paying bills, but I also found myself forgoing food for shopping."

It's not that the show encouraged fiscal irresponsibility, Cardella says, "but it encouraged fantasizing, and too much fantasizing can lead to all kinds of problems."

How do you give up a lifestyle you never had? Anyone, who gets into cc debt, in an attempt to emulate characters in a TV show, needs to have their head examined.
