The porn sector may be the only sector which has allowed women to achieve pay superiority when compared to men. That form of "equality" has not been matched by the non-porn sector; including religious sectors.

With our current divorce rate, your point of view has more to do with public policy decisions that affect us; rather than porn itself. At one time, women were subjected to corporal punishment for being "pornographic" enough to bare their ankles on public beaches. Were those women any more disadvantaged in their interpersonal relationships, or were they merely subjected to what was considered "moral" at that time?

its proven porn destroys the mind and can become a addiction morally you think porn is alright to give fake viewpoints of what sex is and encourage it by higher pay why not give to the world by knowledge not your body.
whatever way you put it its what is considered humane but they have no respect for themselfs so it gives a bad viewpoint of the gender includeing
men its not what was its the present that matters its no better to want people to overexpose themselfs then by covering themselfs head to toe the only difference is your not geting killed by it just seen as unaceptable i care for equal rights for everything so i care adout treatment of others id really think some of the obsurd porn scenes are deemed as not degrading. degrading meaning to me lowering.

For example, I practice not judging women by the clothes they don't wear, thanks to convenient access to porn. I may have had the same issues many guys have, from stereotyping women without convenient and accessible, modern porn.
I'm convinced that both the negative effects of and connotations about porn can be addressed by good old-fashioned communication between parents and kids.

Back when my eldest nephew was 12ish, my sister caught him and a few of his friends with a backpack full of Playboys. Rather than chastise them for it, she sat them down and explained airbrushing and how when they're with real girls someday, not to expect them to look like that. Real girls are going to have spots and dimples and cellulite and uneven skintone and maybe one breast is going to be bigger or higher than the other, etc.

It's natural for boys to be curious. They just need to be aware of reality.

Sometimes I do think the porn made by and for men is over the top, particularly with its fixation on certain things (backdoor action, messy faces, etc.) to the point where some sheltered, inexperienced young men think that all women enjoy that or want it to be a regular part of their repertoire. However, to say that you wouldn't find those things in 95% of all relationships is simply not true. Alfred Kinsey and Masters & Johnson proved it a long, long time ago.

The same has been said of watching TV in general. Respect is a two way street. Since when did tolerance become immoral. The abomination of hypocrisy is more degrading than women being naked and engaging in sex acts with men. Yet, how many people complain about that; even if it is immoral and leads to corruption; which affects everyone, not just the participants of porn.

In my opinion, it is more about people being more responsible for themselves, and not requiring a nanny (theocracy) state to ensure they are not misbehaving like children.

When people deviate to different things often it has been out of boredom and experimentation in an trusting relationship or among people who are fetishists. What we see in modern porn is constant acts of humiliation upon women portrayed as normal and the women (badly) acting like they enjoy them. Maybe some do but it is all about men's pleasure. There is very little face to face sex in porn anymore. It affects more than just young naive boys. This was even touched upon in Sex and the City when some guy pulled something unexpected on Miranda and the women discussed how to handle the new sexual menu. There was also a situation in which a man got upset with Samantha for not being fully shaved. This is the kind of thing you see in real life on comment boards. Where are they getting this stuff if not from modern porn?

Haha.. don't take offense, but your post made me laugh. You referenced a whole scene from SATC (which I've probably watched only a couple of times, but if you ask me where the younger generation gets their information (stuff) from, it's mainstream books, movies, music, SpikeTV, MTV and SATC... not from porn.

I do see how this can be a problem - not so much for aldult women who are confident in theor own skin, but for school age kids who are coming into their own sexuality.

They did a tv show on this in England talking to teenage school kids and the boys really ARE getting a lot of their ideas on what a girl shoud look like and be prepared to do sexually like from porn.

The boys are then tremendously disappointed when they see their girlfriend's breasts and feel that a girl is not taking care of themselves if she has under arm or pubic hair.

The girls therefore feel inadequate from their early teens and have trouble developing into the confident women we all want young women to feel like unless they are stick thin with huge boobs and slathered in make up. I do think it's a real shame.

To be honest I think many of us bow to this in one way or another - I know I am completely hairless because my husband prefers it that way... and where would this ideal have come from if not from porn? No woman is born naturally hairless, not even the most gorgeous ones.

I feel sorry for the young women growing up today... and for the young men most of whom are very unlikely to score a woman with the perfect body that they have come to expect.

I certainly do not think this is a concern only of fat, ugly women who have let themselves go. On the contrary it is the beautiful young women who don't have a perfectly flat stomach with double Ds and the perfect landing strip who are most affected.

If the first glimpse of a naked woman that boys have are of porn type women, no wonder the girls at school aren't living up to their expectations, and no wonder many kids now see oral sex as being on the same level as french kissing.
