If I were a parent of one of her students, I'd be making a complaint to the school system. How dare they permit someone who cannot spell a word that she sees 5 days a week or who is that lackadaisical about spelling to be teaching MY child?! Her credentials are to be questioned!

Ohhh your one of those I actually got into a heated debate with someone from high school about this very topic. Why I accepted the guy is beyond me. I barely knew him but he posted great articles on politics. The interest was short lived as he constantly corrected people on their grammar. I really do not care too much on facebook as it is meant to be a informal way of communicating. I do have a problem with severe misspellings though as it makes one look not that smart. It depends on the person. Some people have a problem and some simply do not care to try. The ones that do not care to try bother me. Or brag about their education as if they are better and spell horribly. In my SIL's case, I think she should know how to spell her employer. The old high school bud that wanted to be the grammar police on facebook, well I deleted him. It got old. Fast.

No kidding. My husband has dyslexia so I know it can be a painful thing to deal with but he constantly doubled checks his words all the time. I do not know if my SIL has dyslexia, it does tend to run in families but even the worst case of dyslexia, after ten years of being a teacher in the same district, same school, you would eventually just know how to spell it! I would die of embarrassment if I spelled Public as Pubic! Then not to even spell the city correctly. She is a horrible teacher anyway. I know people that deal with her or had their kids in her classroom. The stories they tell....sheesh. Tenure at its finest. I wonder what her co workers think.

I've never corrected or commented on any of that and don't plan to. I just happen to notice. I don't really care how they type or word things. I do laugh at some of it, though; because with some of the people I know it's not them just being informal, it's the way they talk and punctuate.
