What makes someone cheat? I'd love to hear from men especially, but women too. Be honest, have you cheated? Does cheating on your partner mean you don't love your partner or can some people just separate love and sex? Realistically, affairs are more common than you think. What isn't common is finding out about the affairs. If you are a faithful man or woman, have you ever been "tested" and walked away from it without cheating? Have you been in love with your partner, but found yourself falling for someone else?

Well, I'm a woman.

I have been "tested" quite a bit in the past by men. I've cheated twice (between the ages of 18 & 21.) I consider myself a pretty faithful person. Just what you're wondering, I do too. I don't know why people cheat on each other. There are a lot of different reasons. If you're boyfriend or girlfriend is ignoring you, not giving you any, etc, you might be tempted to sleep with someone else who will satisfy your needs. Abusive relationships can lead to cheating too.

Some people have real stupid excuses like they wanna be players, or they saw a better lookin' ass walking down the street, or other sh*t like that.

I say just break up with 'em if you don't wanna be with them & only them. You should always only love 1 person, the person you're with. hahaha, damn near impossible.

Jessie

Most people appreciate the beauty of the other gender, basic animal urges is not to be monogomous and it's very tempting to want something that is forbidden.

Some people can't resist the temptation or lust.

Have you ever read some of the threads on here about how much money would it take for you to do _______ (fill in the blank) ? Seems like everone has their weakness and price, to some it comes easier or cheaper then to others.

I think the sexes look at things differently. I believe that men can love their wives more than anything in the world and still cheat, because for us men, sex is primarily a physical act. Sex is TOTALLY different than love. Women are different. For them, its all about emotion and connection and love. Women are for the most part unable to distinguish between sex and love. Im sure Tiger Woods loved his wife very much. He just thought he can get away with having sex with lots of women on the side. His wife was probably not satisfying him sexually.

I wouldnt call it being "tested". But yeah, I get hit on by women and have women approaching me, flirting with me, etc. but I would never cheat because it is just not in my character to do so.

No. That is just silly. Why even put yourself in a situation where you can start to develop feelings for someone else? Crazy.

Here is it, all you can eat:

Another cheating thread. Once a cheater, always a cheater?

cheating...the worst crime?

Do you think dating a lot BEFORE a LTR prevents cheating?

Different views on cheating?

Cheating - how can you do it?

There are dozens more threads on the subject in case you don't get enough feedback here, something tells me you will. Threads of this topic typically don't end well.

Wow. This is very interesting. I can never understand why men do that. They love their wives but cheat on them? Maybe I'm just too naive to understand. I don't get it. Action speaks louder than words, don't they?

I don't know. I don't want to deal with a cheater. I consider myself to be a faithful person. I can never cheat and live with that guilt. I'll shoot my brains out if I do cheat.

There are many reasons why people cheat, and not all cheaters are created equal. This is too complicated a subject to just be a boiled down to one simple explanation. Have you cheated yourself and are now looking to understand why or something?

Tiger is a pretty good example of most of us being human. It would be extremely difficult to have every day and night, beautiful women attempt to seduce you. His wife may have been doing a great job in bed but she wasn't with him 24 / 7 and other women were.

Look at people of the cloth who give in to temptations, it's difficult when it's in your face constantly to not try a small sample. Once you take a bite, the next bite is easier.

Nope. Never have, but my husband has and he says he loves me. He says it wasn't about love and that he will love me forever. I don't know. I don't understand the mentality of a cheater I guess.

No, you just don't understand the mentality of your husband

Believe it or not, many men are capable of separating love from sex (most women are not.)

While what he did by cheating was certainly not very loving toward you - it is possible for men to have sex with other women when they still feel love for their wives.

Was this a one time event or did he have a whole other relationship with someone?

The circumstances this happened under greatly impact the direction of your future together.
