When I was younger, I didn't want any kids for two reasons: 1 - I have four younger brothers that were always my responsibility and they were annoying. 2 - I would see how other people raised there kids and they were doing a horrible job. But when I finally met the one I wanted to share a life with, a child was inevitable. I love my daughter and trust me, some things came to me naturally, others I had to learn and each day she either makes me happy or tries me on something but it keeps life entertaining...lol. I think if and when you are ready, it will happen. But alot of people who say they don't want them, later do but they've missed their time to have kids on their own. You are not selfish for not wanting kids. The choice will always be yours & your future partner.

People don't always change their minds--I have an aunt and uncle now in their 60s who lived quite happily with their childfree choice all this time. But yes, some people when they're younger feel they can't/don't want children simply because they can't imagine giving up that much of themselves. Then as they mature, they find they want to share that much of themselves in specifically that way. It's not at all unusual.

I would hate myself if I ever became a parent, which won't happen. I don't want kids, like never. I could only wish that I could have more dating opportunities with good women.
I have so much to achieve in life, and having kids is not one of them.
33, male and divorced. I mention that as some people I know think that i'm going to change my mind if I ever get married or when I hit my 30's. I quickly remind them that i've already been married and/or tell them not to let my looks fool them, i'm in my 30's despite looking like i'm in my early 20's. I have never wanted kids and I never want kids. I also feel that my decision on the matter is a more logical choice not just from a personal financial standpoint but also considering the fact that we are populating the earth at too great a rate. There's no need to have a bunch of kids in this day and age.
