So I decided I am taking a HUGE leap.
There are a BUNCH of places hiring right now so I am going to quickly get a second job.
I am applying to FAFSA and applying to scholarships for money I can spend on anything.
Someone left a note on my car (that has issues) and they want to buy it.

I have about $300 saved up right now and I have one friend who owes me $15, one who owes me like $25 and my mom who owes me $40. Plus a paycheck in less than a week which should be like another $300.

I am going to sell the car for what I can and then put it in the bank account.
I am going to apply for the scholarships and then if I get $5000 or more in grants and stuff then my grandmother is going to let me use my college money on a car.
I'll be getting a second job no doubt.

I plan on pulling all of this together in the next three weeks.
I am also going to go back to college part time.

I will be roommating with someone from work in a two bedroom just right across the street from work.
Rent will be split so about $300 per person, utilities except water is included in the rent.
I am not going to worry about paying for my cell phone till November when the contract is up.
My car insurance is low.
And all I have to pay for extra is cable/internet, groceries, gas, car insurance on a regular basis.
I'll be saving for car stuff and emergency expenses but

My mom doesn't know about any of this yet.
It seems really sudden and half-assed but my mom qualified for $15,000 in grants, so I can qualify for a lot too.

Once I get the second job, get the grants, get the car. I am GONE!
I plan to move out in September or 3-4 weeks from now.

Sounds like a plan.

Just be careful about only going to college part time. I believe you need to be a full time student for grants.

Full time isn't a big deal. It's just four classes. Suck it up and go full time.

I can totally do 4 classes too.
I have been doing 3 a semester so far.

It's going to be so nice to be out.
I can go out at 4am if I want to. I can do whatever I want. Its going to be amazing.
I'll be getting the car before I move out and even then I can still leave whenever I want, I don't have to ask permission to do jack squat.

That's usually the reason children move out of their parents' homes.

Your post has inspired me to become a stricter parent!

If you can be motivated to move, my children can most certainly be motivated to move, right?

There's hope for me afterall!

Trust me i've been motivated to move for a long time.
I just about flew out to live with my grandmother when my mom imposed the bedtime and left for a week and a half when my mom hit me so hard I got a concussion. Both times I had no intentions of coming back.

Bedtime and concussion. That's the key to getting adult children to move, huh?

I'm teasing. My children are good kids. I'm not rushing them out the door........yet!

I'm good too but she used to not even go to bed unless I was asleep and this was back when I was 19.
She basically gave my mail a pat down the other day and inquired as to what was in it.
Always makes derogatory statements to me, cuts me down, insinuates I am stupid.
Tries to treat me like I am a child.

I'd stay if she were different.

Thanks and I will...I just filled out my FAFSA form and now I am lost as what to do because I can't find where that page of stuff is. I don't know how this works and my mom doesn't want to help me and I don't even know what to do now.

I get paid in a week and will have like $500 saved up so far. Selling that POS outside for whatever I can get and then hopefully these grants come through..

Now im off to make up my schedule for this fall.
Ok....just picked

Intro to criminal justice, public speaking, gen psych and intro to sociology
I can take all those in town and be able to work close at work everyday but wednesday.
