Well, not everyone has a short attention span. Some of us don't mind knowing more. That's how these old-fashioned things called "conversations" start.

I was giving my opinion. To each their own.

Get rid of all the negativity. Swap "likes" and "wants" for the "can'ts" and "don'ts".

Very true. I do find younger people today have shorter attention spans and

In the context of profiles, there are so many to pass over at first glance that I'd be more than happy to read a long rare gem.

Hi! I'm THENAMEISHERE. Most anyone would find me an amicable kind of guy, and if they don't something is clearly wrong with them. Basically, I am a chill, normal, relaxed guy. My friends and family mean the world to me...hopefully you can be fortunate enough to join the crowd.

Music is a huge influence in my life and my taste varies depending on my mood. I go to A LOT of shows.

Things I am a huge fan of: music, movies, dinner, trips (especially spontaneous ones), nature (especially the forest/trees/lakes/rivers/waterfalls variety), sports (Dallas Cowboys) and anything new and interesting I haven't tried yet.

I am working in a technical support position for hospitals. People break computers and I fix them. The end. I also volunteer at a local animal shelter a few times a month. I just moved to IHAVEENOUGHSTALKERS a few months ago and adopted a puppy from the SPCA.

I know I have a lot of offer in a relationship. I'm looking for someone that may share a few interests as well as introduce me to new things. Someone that is a bit adventurous, and doesn't get mad when I drive us an hour in the wrong direction. I'm looking for someone to really get to know and make an actual connection with.

Now THIS ^^^ is an ad I would respond to! I agree with at least one other poster who said the part in your new ad (OP) about pedophiles and murderers was actually creepy. I know it was meant in jest, but it's still creepy. You are a clever writer, and that I can appreciate. Other than that, your new ad doesn't do anything for me.

To each his or her own. I am much more attracted to an ad which is longer and tells me more about how the writer thinks and feels about a few of his favorite passions. The ones which are only a few sentences long make me think the poster is an inept writer. I need someone with a brain, who is not afraid to share a few insights about the world as he sees it. A lengthier ad reveals more about the writer's personality.

(I realize I'm in the minority with this one! )

Yes, they heel very well. Older one walks "point", younger one brings up the rear. They love it. We get comments all the time from people who are amazed that our cats walk in formation.

The ideas in Sierra's and ChessieMom's posts are really good.

I would like to point out that posting too many pics is also a sign of desperation. I mean really, just because Match.com says you can post up to 24 pics it doesn't mean you have to! I have seen profile with pics of Amsterdam and Cape Town cities and these individuals were not even included in the pictures! For all I care they probably just googled posted them on their profiles. How silly.

Agreed. Also leave out pics of your pets, when you're not in them.
