I thought this thread would be talking about the "hook up culture" among the young, the whole "friends with benefits" scene or polyamory.

I'm not into that scene so I can't explain it to you. But it's apparently about something else.

Thanks for catching my typo, but I stand behind my statements.

Who are you calling retarted?

I think "if it feels good do it" aptly describes the dating culture in the States.

The culture is simply: "Anything goes"! Sex in any and every form is promoted; commitment, chastity, values and morals minimized. We've all had our wild days, but they seem to be started a lot younger for many young people and become a long-term lifestyle and/or "way of life" vs. a temporary phase.

People have always screwed around.

The only difference, it was more on the DL back in the day.

I think we need to go back to an era where people actually had a little discretion.

Exactly! It is a great culture indeed, live for today, do what makes you feel good and worry about the consequences later! Leech off your parents for as long as you can, and continue to live your "rockstar" lifestyle on their dime. A generation of losers!
