According to Consumer's Digest, looks only account for 1/3 of a woman's total rating.

Beyond her looks, I demand that my purchase objectively prove a return on my investment in personal favors, and she must, absolutely must be a good cook and require little overall maintenance.

What if she's absolutely perfect in every way except for being a good cook? What if she's average to poor in the cooking department but is drop dead gorgeous with a great personality?

1. Intelligence

2. Loyalty

3. Good Family Values

4. Personality

5. Goal oriented - must what to be productive

Looks are last on the list, because people can pay to change and look good/sexy. But if she doesn't have a good personality then what are you going to do when she's old and gray and the looks are gone..... she better have a good personality or you will not like whats coming.

Great sense of humor, great looks, great personality, great person overall...but a horrible cook who can't even make cereal without screwing up.

Would being a horrible cook be a deal breaker?

Of course not. I was, more or less, poking fun at the OP for suggesting that females have some sort of rating system like they would rate a Hyundai in Consumer's Digest.

I've never understood what anyone means when they say "good family values." Arent values different from family to family? Do you mean you expect a potential mate to adapt to YOUR values?

When it comes to deal breaking issues, I look for a healthy level of self-esteem (neither too high nor too low), whether she has a firm grip on reality (being able to provide for herself without help goes hand-in-hand with this), whether her expectations of me are in line with what she is bringing to the table, and whether she can handle situations that are less than ideal without complaining too much or blaming me.

Otherwise, I strongly prefer (besides good looking) , someone intelligent, with intellectual curiosity, and a sense of humor.

It means putting the family FIRST - not about conforming to your values.
