I haven't graduated to laptops. After a lot of thinking, I went for a desktop again. I do like XP better, though. And the monitor feels odd... I wish they were more square. Maybe I should've gotten 19" or 21". This one is 23" and I'm sure glad it's not any bigger... Feels like a TV hooked to a computer. I was kind of excited about this idea, but gave up after checking this set-up in somebody's home.

Funny thing is after I finally figured how to transfer pics from my cell (all on my own, I should say!), now that program doesn't work with Windows 7!

LOL - I have the "Entertainment" version of the laptop so it has a humongous screen. Still can't get used to how wide it is, especially when I'm forced to use the dinky little mousepad. I'm thinking of using an old-style hard-wired clicky-mouse instead.

Oy, SO many of my old programs won't work with this thing, even in the so-called Compatibility mode. And I STILL can't transfer pics from my phone, but that's probably because Motorola is just a freaky company to deal with.

Thank Buddha my porn is intact!

The pads are what I hate the most about the laptops. Well, along with the charging, overheating, etc. BS. It didn't make sense to me to get a less powerful computer if I am to use it mostly on the desk after all... Somehow I can't manage to type, eat, drink, and smoke in bed at the same time and don't want the bedroom that smoky. That's why I was thinking of hooking up a computer to a TV in the living room, but the whole thing looked bizarre...

And people tell me to become a cougar! I can't deal with a friggin' new computer!

I had no idea (and still don't) what the difference is between 32-bit and 64-bit and was told some programs don't work yet with 64-bit... My phone is Samsung and there was a nifty and simple program that even I could figure easily and now it doesn't work!

Well, you know me and my minimalist ways - I figure the next time I move, it would be easier to carry one laptop than 3 big boxes full of junk.

I don't mind the overheating since, in the winter time, it'll warm my lap in bed. The short time on a charge, though...sucks.

I think the difference between 32- and 64-bit is that the software guys can now re-sell you all your old programs at inflated prices because it has a "64-bit!!!" sticker on the box.

Yeah, that gave me a huge sigh of relief - you know my tastes - it would be impossible to get the same stuff again, since now they execute you for having it.

Glad to know somebody is up to the job!

I suspect so, too. This time I don't have a copy of Office, but I didn't buy it. Screw them! Buying software just goes against my principles! The stripped-down versions seems to be OK for my needs.

Yeah, I've always wondered how some of your movies exist at all!

I made them back before all those silly "be-nice-to-animals" laws went into effect...

True. Well, it's late and I drank... It ought to be easy! Besides, you NEED to keep me happy!

We'll see... So far that Windows Live Mail seems to be OK and Word and Excel look almost like the full versions. What they're missing I probably don't even need.

Well, lucky you! I just did some research and no, Samsung doesn't have a version of PC Studio 3 for Windows 7. No drivers, either. Even a Samsung laptop doesn't work with a Samsung phone! Isn't IT just lovely?!

If you do it just right, I believe you can manage to have a second OS, say XP, on your new toy. Not sure of exactly how - probably involves partitioning.

SD4020 - huzzah for Open Office!
