What about a man's vanity and his need to look as big and "he-man like" as possible by dating a small woman? It goes both ways. Plus, show me a woman who actually WANTS to look the opposite of small and dainty [or at least slim and feminine] - very very few, if any.

I hear ya on this - too bad most of the very tall men that tall women want/need are often taken by very small women who are IMHO just being greedy. If I was 5'3" I would be perfectly happy with a man between 5'6" and 5'9" [if I were 5' I would be happy with a man 5'3" - 5'6", etc...]. In fact, I would actually find a man over 6' to be somewhat intimidating.

I'd willingly date a woman 7' and 400 lbs..................

And I'd look just as manly next to her as if she were 4' 9" and 80 lbs.

When I was 5'6, I was with a woman who is 5'10 for two years. She made is very clear that her preference was 6'2 and taller and we broke up because she had to move. I would approach taller women all of the time and the two sets of women that were rude to me the most were VERY SHORT WOMEN (4'9-5'1) and TALL WOMEN (5'9+).

Judging by the many PMs I got on this subject, many shorter men share the same experience.
The women most rude to me---------5 feet to 6 feet tall.

I'm 5'6"

A 6' guy might be a prize in the U.S., in the Netherlands, he'll be the common man. A 5'6 guy is average in Mexico. Send a 5'9-5'11 guy there and he will clean up. 5'4 is average in Indonesia, send a 5'6+ guy and he will do fine.

In societies that are not free, have arranged marriages, or societies where women are oppressed, then height will not be as important an attribute. This has been proven over and over and over again.
Are there or have there ever been any dictatorships where you had to be married by law?

LOL..... I'd bet a million dollars that you sure wouldn't! You're only saying this because of your CURRENT PERSPECTIVE. I'd bet every one of Bill Gate's dollars that if you were 5'3, you'd be completely ignoring men in that 5'6/5'7 bracket......... If 5'1, I'd bet the U.S. Debt Ceiling that you would not be checking for ANY man who was 5'3 lol.
