LOL at the miners who were saved
Some of the miners had mistresses who showed up to greet them when they were saved and their wives showed up too. The mistresses had no idea they were married. ONe guy even confessed before he was saved. Im sure there is already a thread about this but i gotta run so no time to search. Peace

Why do you find this LOL funny? Imagine all the pain and hurt this has caused to innocent loved ones. It isn't funny at all. It's pathetic and sad.
The miner who confessed his affair while underground obviously had time to think about his behavior and the heartache and betrayal it was causing to the ones he loves and cares about. It seems to me, he had a good chat with God and knew he had a second chance at life, and he needed to make things right in his life. God Bless him for his bravery in stepping up and doing what's right by all, instead of just thinking of himself... with his 'little head'.

Or maybe he just knew that his wife and girlfriend would find out about each other in the midst of all this and thought it would be better if it came from him. "Stepping up" and confessing is only half of "doing what's right"... only time will tell if his behavior has actually changed. Who knows, his experience could have even made him realize he's not in love with his wife and doesn't want to be with her anymore. Maybe the whole time he was down there, he was thinking about his mistress.
Of course I don't know any of that, I'm just saying we have no way of knowing what the guy was truly thinking and feeling when he confessed so I wouldn't be too quick to "God bless him". I'm glad they're out and alive but beyond that, I'm not going to make assumptions about their personal lives.

I thought his wife said that he told her he'd still like to have them both in his life. Evidently, she kind of had a problem with that scenario.

A good lesson for all who would stray from the nest. They often eventually regret it whether they are trapped a half mile below the earth's surface or just within the confines of their own guilty conscience..

I heard a report that said the miners had requested Bibles be sent down the chute and that many of them had been reviewing their lives and the changes they wanted to make because they all realized they'd been given another chance at life. God Bless them all. How fortunate were they to have been blessed again with life. The ability for them to recognize there were things in their lives they could and do have the power to change, whether for themselves or others, or for all is what's important. Setting things straight in your life is an important step on the path of maturity... regardless of what age atonement hits you. There's nothing wrong with blessing them. What you wrote may well have been part of their thought processes as well. If he makes the situation right for all (whether it's to be with one or the other, OR none if that's the case), then that is a selfless act and a good deed in my book. In any event, everyone who is connected in their webs of deceit has had their lives changed. God Bless them all I send prayers for peace and restoration of balance in their lives as soon as possible.

This is what I read on CNN.com: the guy who has a mistress and his wife have actually lived separate lives for years. They just didn't get a divorce (probably for religious reasons or something like that)! And the legitimate wife did not know about the other woman

People do things they normally wouldn't when they think they are going to die, it doesn't always positively change them permanently. No, there's nothing wrong with blessing someone, I just wouldn't do so simply because someone confessed to cheating on his wife.

It is my understanding that it is very difficult to get a divorce in Chile. One of the commentators mentioned that rather than go through all of that some couples live separate lives from their spouses.
I don't find this particularly humorous but it does not bother me, either.
I obsessively watched the entire rescue and found that I was very interested in the "stories" of the miners. It is definitely a very interesting group of guys. The human side often appeals to me.
I'm so pleased that everyone got out. What a trial for them. I suppose that being underground/wondering about the chances of rescue for nearly 70 days will give almost everyone time to reasses their lives and priorities.

i'm glad they all got out and are ok, but on the otherhand this story has been covered to much, all these guys will get> book ,movie, endorsment deals.. while 10s of millions of children are starving around the world. do you see the same kind of effort being applied to solving poverty. it's amazing if the main stream news focuses on one strory, the world forgets about all the others. like the 1. 5 million people in haiti that are still living in squalor, because 80 percent of the money pleged never got paid.. or the 18 million in pakistan that have been effected by the floods.. just to name a few. and are by far way more serious in scale and shear magnitude..
